3D exploration

Navigate the textured scene, control the camera and understand rendering pauses.

The 3D view is the initial state. It shows a textured scene, animated orbits and camera controls.

Observed behaviour

  • the scene remains mounted when you switch to the map or comparison, limiting visual jumps;
  • the WebGL render loop switches to never as soon as the current view is no longer 3D;
  • a fallback material is used if a texture fails.

Scientific interpretation

Positions, visual distances and 3D sizes are illustrative. Use the text cards for orders of magnitude; do not measure the scene.

Accessibility

When the operating system requests reduced motion, the initial loading screen is shortened. The 3D scene remains available: this does not lock orientation or disable WebGL.
